RARE-NL aims to bring people and knowledge together to find faster solutions for rare diseases. By working together, we can achieve better outcomes for patients. We carefully examine real-world examples (cases) and use these insights to improve the entire system. This helps ensure that more people gain access to treatments and that existing medicines can be reused for other diseases. The knowledge we gain is shared through research and publications, allowing others to learn from it and helping to advance care for rare diseases.

RARE-NL’s activities are intended to support academic partners and to establish socially responsible public-private partnerships. The focus is on drug repurposing – developing new uses for existing medicines – and on therapy development for rare diseases.
